Neema Kambona
Neema Kambona has worked in the arts and communications sectors, as a writer, journalist and filmmaker in both the UK and Tanzania. Recently, she gained experience in the charity sector, working at Barnardo’s and Diversity House on projects to empower women and girls. She was the project officer on the heritage project ‘Breaking the Myth’ at Diversity House. The project raised awareness of the contributions of Africans during the First World War.
Neema is pleased to be working at IROKO Theatre Company on the National Lottery Heritage Fund supported project, ‘Home from Home,’ celebrating British Nigerian Heritage.
Home From Home” signifies a place or community where I feel a profound sense of belonging and comfort, akin to my native home. It is a supportive environment where my cultural roots and personal values are embraced and celebrated, providing a sanctuary that nurtures growth, connection, and a strong sense of identity.

A key takeaway from the HfH project for me is the chance to connect with outstanding Nigerians who are making significant contributions both in Nigeria and the UK. Their achievements underscore the positive impact Nigerians have on their communities globally.
