Dr S. I. Laguda, was born in Nigeria and completed his formal education there before travelling to the Soviet Union to study medicine on a government scholarship. After his studies, Dr Laguda settled in Britain and pursued post graduate studies in obstetricians and gynaecologists. Thereafter, Dr Laguda practiced as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in Britain and Nigeria.
In this interview, Dr Laguda looks back on his schooling and discusses the cultural differences he experienced throughout his time in Nigeria, the UK, and a brief stint in the former Soviet Union.
