Iroko Theatre celebrated Black History Month on 24th October 2023 with a fun filled day of activities ‘Exploring the legacies of British-Nigerians in the UK’ at Willesden Library in Brent.
As part of the Home from Home project, the event was the first in a series of public sharing days and exhibitions which toured different London venues examining British-Nigerian heritage.
Through arts and crafts workshops, an interactive story telling performance called the ‘Stone of Destiny’ and an exhibition showing prominent British-Nigerians and their impact on society, members of the public of all ages enjoyed learning about the multi-faceted rich and diverse British-Nigerian heritage.
The Home from Home project is an 18-month project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
