Anthony Joshua OBE, born Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is a British-Nigerian professional heavyweight boxer. Joshua, is a two-time unified heavyweight champion, having held the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles since December 2019. He retained his titles one more time after beating mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev at Wembley.
At regional level, he held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles from 2015 to 2016. He also represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, winning gold. As of October 2022, Joshua is ranked as the world’s second-best active heavyweight by BoxRec, the expert boxing website. Recently, the Ogun State government in Nigeria, named a street in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state after Joshua, who had some of his growing-up years in Nigeria. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 for services to boxing.
