Ayan De First, Mr. Culture, is a multi-award-winning African Cultural Ambassador and the first premier talking drummer in Europe. He broke boundaries when he became the first African talking drummer to perform for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace during the Golden Jubilee Anniversary. He performed twice for HRH Prince Charles at St. James’s Palace and in Croydon, London, and recently for His Majesty King Charles III.
Ayan De First-Mr. Culture has appeared on many British television channels and performed for the likes of Madonna, Sir Richard Branson, and the Lord Mayor of London. He broke a record when he performed on the Channel 4 programme, Come Dine With Me. He has entertained eminent personalities from Nigeria, including Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Abu Bakar Abdulsalam, Senator Bukola Saraki, and Ooni of Ife.
In 2019, Ayan De First performed at the City of London’s annual banquet, delighting the crowd with his display of Nigerian and African music. As a gesture for his contribution, the Lord Mayor of London decided to make Ayan De First a Liveryman of the city.
