Ebenezer Sogunro

Ebenezer Sogunro is a trained and qualified chef with over ten years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry. Mr Sogunro completed 6th Form in 2011 and went on to study professional cookery at De Vere Academy. During this time, he worked on the concept of Cally Munchy spotting gaps in the market in the modernisation and under commercialization of African cuisine.

Founded by Ebenezer Sogunro, Cally Munchy, is a culinary revolution born from a passion to celebrate and modernize the diverse flavours of Africa. Inspired by the vibrant streets of Lagos Island, Nigeria, and having made the UK his home since 2000, Ebenezer’s journey is a testament to the power of culinary innovation.

Mr Sogunro has worked with prestigious establishments, like Michelin-starred restaurants and the Tate Modern in their Regeneration and Community Partnership projects. The brand’s achievements include winning the award for the best Jollof rice in 2020. Cally Munchy has graced London’s top locations, from Canary Wharf to Westfield Shopping Centre and catered for renowned names like Nike, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Somerset House, and the National History Museum.
