Eniola Aluko MBE is a British-Nigerian football broadcaster and former professional player. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Aluko moved to Birmingham, England and made 102 appearances for the national team from 2004 to 2016. She competed at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China, the 2009 UEFA Women’s Euro, the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany, the 2013 UEFA Women’s EURO, and the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she represented Great Britain. Aluko was also listed in the 2020 Powerlist, as being one of the 100 most influential Black Britons.
In 2022, Aluko was one of the first inductees into The Women’s Super League (WSL) Hall of Fame by the Football Association. Aluko retired from professional football in 2020 and was awarded an MBE in 2023 for services to association football and charity.
