Eunice Olumide MBE is a British-Nigerian fashion model and actress who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and is hailed as Scotland’s first Black supermodel.
After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with a first-class BA in Communication and Mass Media, she pursued postgraduate degrees in Film Studies at Queen Mary University, London and Metaphysics at Pennsylvania University.
Olumide’s modelling career began when she was scouted by the Select model agency. She has participated in fashion campaigns and shoots across the globe, including in Japan, Paris, Milan, USA, Africa, and the UK. Olumide has appeared in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Italian Vogue, and British Vogue.
In addition, Olumide is an equal rights campaigner. She delivered a speech at the Houses of Parliament on the impact of fashion on the environment and worked with the Scottish and the UK governments on the Windrush Scandal and knife crime. She published a book in 2018, How To Get Into Fashion, addressing exploitation and advocated for policies to protect models in the workplace.
Olumide is also a DJ, touring with Grace Jones and Damian Marley. Her acting and film credits include being Assistant Director and appearing in the BAFTA winning title Trouble Sleeping. She appeared in Star Wars Rogue One, The Last Jedi and Absolutely Fabulous.
In 2015, Olumide founded her own art gallery and received an MBE in 2017 for services to broadcasting, charity, and arts.
