Felicia Kwaku OBE is a nurse and executive hospital administrator in NHS England. She has practiced as a cardiothoracic/intensive care nurse in the UK for more than 30 years. She received an OBE in 2020, for services to nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When it became apparent that Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) nurses were being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, Kwaku campaigned for these nurses throughout NHS England. Thousands of caregivers were reached through her webinars at a time when they felt helpless and in need of information. As the pandemic spread, she pushed for proper risk assessments and PPE for all clinical and nursing personnel.
Kwaku serves as the Associate Director of Nursing for Acute Speciality Medicine at King’s College Hospital in London and is the Chair of the Chief Nursing Officers Black and Minority Ethnic Strategic Advisory Group at the NHS.
