Folasade Babarinde is the Creative Leader of Abundance Arts, a community-led organisation committed to positive social change through offering exciting art-based programmes, fun learning and therapeutic social activities for families, SEND participants and young people.
Growing up as a British-Nigerian in London, Folasade has been devising unique programmes that reflect the rich and diverse cultures of the city, enhancing wellbeing for local communities for over 20 years.
Folasade is an accomplished African percussionist and inspired visual artist. Folasade studied at Central St Martin’s, London College of Arts and has gained BA Honours degree in Fine Art.
Abundance Arts has been recognised with a community contribution award by the Mayor of Brent for services supporting community wellbeing during the COVID 19 pandemic. The organisation continues to partner with high profile institutions such as the University of Westminster, Tate Britain and the Royal Albert Hall.
Each year, Abundance Arts benefits over 2,000 residents mainly in the boroughs of Brent, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, continuing to contribute from the grassroots, bringing people together through arts, learning and creativity.
