Zain Ejiofor Asher

Zain Ejiofor Asher is a British-Nigerian news presenter at CNN. She was born in London to Nigerian parents. Her older brother is the actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor. At just 5 years, she lost her father in a car accident in Nigeria.

Zain graduated from Oxford University in 2005. Then studied a graduate programme in journalism at Columbia University, New York City. She became an honorary fellow of Keble College, Oxford University in 2021. As a correspondent for CNN, she reported on many stories such as the Chibok schoolgirls story in Nigeria.

In 2015 she gave aTedx talk “Trust Your Struggle“, which was viewed 2.2 million times on YouTube and inspired her memoir Where The Children Take Us, published in 2022.
