The ‘Home from Home’ project aims to explore the legacies of pioneering British-Nigerians in the UK and their impact on society.

The project highlights British-Nigerians’ contributions to the cultural, political, educational, artistic, spiritual, and sporting life of Britain and London, in particular.

HfH Project Deliverables

Volunteering

‘Home from Home’ provided volunteering opportunities for 169 members of the public from varied backgrounds.

Training

In collaboration with various institutions, ‘Home from Home’ delivered several training programmes.

Conference

A conference on the ‘The Legacy of People of Nigerian Descent in Britain,’ was held.

Museum Tours

People from various communities, professions and backgrounds undertook guided educational visits to museums.

Exhibitions

‘Home from Home’ exhibition featuring the (hi)stories of 100 British-Nigerians, toured 13 libraries in London.

Sharing Days

‘Home from Home’ sharing days with mixed audiences took please in various venues across London.
